Calling McEuen Alumni - Let's Connect!
Dear McEuen Scholarship community,
My name is Katherine Lacroix, and I am the 2018 McEuen Scholar, now a rising fourth-year student pursuing the MA (Hons) in Art History.
In writing my yearly report for the scholarship, I came to reflect on the standstill moment the pandemic affords us to rethink and recalibrate. I thought about how the McEuen connection pointed me towards our youngest scholar, Marika Schenkels '19, a brilliant mind and bright presence. I equally felt as though I was meeting an old friend when I had the coincidental pleasure of meeting Emma Archibald '12 in January on an alumni call for a dinner-debate society of which we have both been members. I am (and this is the wonderful part!) not the only happy recipient of the Scholarship Fund's generosity, and these encounters have urged me to suggest the development of an alumni network.
Stay tuned for more details on the alumni portal in the coming weeks, as we take this opportunity to pair alumni development and the reconstruction of the Scholarship’s website.
It is therefore with great excitement that I announce, in tandem, the Scholarship’s social media campaign. Over the coming months, we will be launching Twitter and LinkedIn pages, as well upgrading our website in an effort to heighten the Scholarship’s visibility across Canada, and perhaps even beyond. We aim to continue attracting greater numbers of applicants, and from increasingly diverse backgrounds. We also hope to garner wider interest in the Scholarship, and attract funding from former scholars and new patrons.
We will be publishing notices here, in due time, and will be very grateful should you engage with pages and posts through liking and sharing. We will continue to share our internal news and private invitations in this group and by email, and public announcements will be disseminated more broadly on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, the website’s blog and the Foundation’s newsletter.
As ever, do not hesitate to reach out to the Foundation’s President, John Aylen email@example.com, should you have any proposals for development.
We look forward to growing the Scholarship’s image and online presence with your invaluable support!
