How to apply for the McEuen Scholarship
- Read the information found on our scholarship, conditions and FAQ page and review all of the instructions below.
- Apply for admission to the University of St Andrews.
- To be guaranteed a place at the University of St Andrews, all applicants for the McEuen Scholarship are required to apply (at their own cost and expense) for admission to the University of St Andrews before January 31 and deliver proof of acceptance to the McEuen Scholarship Foundation when received. In the event that the applicant’s proof of acceptance from the University of St Andrews is not received by the applicant before the January 31 deadline, the applicant shall indicate in the application form that the proof of acceptance will follow. An applicant who is short-listed for an interview with the Selection Committee must ensure his/her proof of acceptance is received by the Foundation before the date of the applicant’s interview with the Selection Committee. The scholarship cannot be awarded to an applicant who has not been accepted for admission to the University of St Andrews.

- The winner of the McEuen Scholarship will be required to meet any conditions imposed by the University of St Andrews with respect to the admission of that person.
- Note to applicants applying for entry to Medical Science Program at St Andrews: The Medical Science degree program is for 6 years with 3 years spent at the University of St Andrews and the remaining 3 years spent at the University of Manchester. As currently constituted, the McEuen Scholarship is for study at University of St Andrews only, and is not available for study at another university in the UK or elsewhere.

- Fill in and submit the electronic application form found below on this page.
- Applications must be submitted electronically using the online form. It is no longer necessary to submit printed applications, and we cannot accept applications that are mailed or emailed.
- Submit supporting documents.
- The following documents are required in support of the application:
- Official transcripts of the applicant’s academic record (high school and university if applicable).
- Resume of extracurricular activities (sports, hobbies, clubs, committees, community involvement, employment experience, etc.).
- Personal statement: an essay (500 words or less) stating the candidate's reasons for wishing to study at the University of St Andrews.
- Proof of acceptance by the University of St Andrews. If the applicant is short-listed for an interview with the Selection Committee, proof of acceptance must be received before the date of the interview.
- Letters of reference from 2 individuals who can attest to the applicant’s academic ability.
- Supporting documents can be submitted by any of the following methods:
- uploaded and attached to the electronic application form, OR
- emailed to the McEuen Scholarship Foundation at [email protected], OR
- mailed to the McEuen Scholarship Foundation offices (see address below).
- The following documents are required in support of the application:
- Remit application fee.
- Mail a cheque or money order for $50.00 CAD payable to "McEuen Scholarship Foundation Inc." to our offices (see address below). Be sure to include the applicant’s name on the payment.

APPLICATIONS FOR 2025 ARE NOW CLOSED
Applications received by the January 31 deadline will be acknowledged no later than April 1.
Short-listed applicants will be invited to appear virtually before the Selection Committee in April for an interview.
The winner of the McEuen Scholarship will be notified no later than May 1.
